Catching up

It is another snowy morning in West Michigan. I have been quilting a lot in the past two years. My sewing group - Maple Valley Quilters - meets on Mondays. Each year we make a quilt to raffle on Labor Day weekend. 2017 will be the fifth year we have done this. Usually the money raised is donated to the local fire department. One year we gave it to a local youth facility. I have also made quilts for my sister, my niece, my grandchildren and friends; as well as a few for myself.

December 21, 2014

I am following Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville.com Grand Illusion Mystery Quilt this fall. Last Friday she sent instructions for week four's block. I will try to post pictures of Weeks one and two that I have completed so that I am able to share my progress with others making this quilt. It is based on the colors at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Grass green, turquoise, yellow, geranium pink, black and white are the colors. It will be bright and cheery. The piecing is small and precise.

Merry Christmas!
